Synergy 2000 SE Addresses Highest Security Concerns for Product Quality and Safety Data

Cincinnati, OH - Zontec Inc. has announced a product line extension to its Synergy 2000(TM) Statistical Process Control (SPC) software for companies who need to implement the most stringent access and security controls on its quality assurance data. The new program, called Synergy 2000 SE, creates a closed security system environment where a System Administrator takes responsibility for granting user privileges, controlling data access, applying password protection and ensuring that the data cannot be compromised.

Synergy 2000 SE satisfies the security needs of organizations that are migrating to a paperless enterprise in order to respond more rapidly to product quality and safety issues. While effectively supporting Good Manufacturing Practices, Synergy 2000 SE provides the ultimate in reporting, traceability and the generation of audit trails for parts, batches, lots, manufacturing cells, assignable causes and corrective actions. The software also reduces the error rate over manual data entry and improves upon often expensive and tedious "hard copy" storage methods.

Synergy 2000 SE provides automatic time and date stamping of all data. In addition, historical data files reflect any changes or editing of production records without obscuring the original data. A unique feature of Synergy 2000 SE is the ability to capture handwritten signatures via an electronic signature pad. Thus, individual signatures can confirm accountability for every quality control sample stored in the system.

For industries regulated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Synergy 2000 SE becomes an important element in satisfying that agency's new risk-based and more focused interpretation of Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 11-the criteria under which the FDA equates electronic records with paper documents and electronic signatures with handwritten counterparts.

Synergy 2000 SE runs on Microsoft's Windows® operating systems beginning with Windows 95 and up.

Zontec became one of the first companies to offer SPC software for personal computers 20 years ago. Since then, its technology has been adopted by more than 4,000 companies spanning virtually every industrial category.
