Product News: Paints & Coatings
Solderable Coatings hermetically seal packages.
Press Release Summary:
April 29, 2014 - Although silicon is most frequently used substrate, Thin Film Solderable Coatings and Face Metallization can be applied to virtually all commonly used optical materials. Products are typically used for hermetic sealing of sensitive packages. They can be combined with anti-reflective, bandpass, or precision custom coatings from UV out to longwave infrared wavelengths. Applications include infrared detectors, cameras, focal plane arrays, and other sealed sensors and/or detectors.

DSI® Introduces Solderable Coatings and Face Metallization Optical Coatings
Press release date: April 21, 2014
According to Dr. Michael Newell, director of sales and marketing at Deposition Sciences, Inc., “We are very excited about DSI’s new developments in solderable coatings and face metallization. Using our recently enhanced photolithography capabilities, these new coatings can be patterned at wafer scale, making them compatible with various wafer-level packaging operations that our customers currently employ.”
Deposition Sciences also offers custom coatings for one-of-a-kind specialty instruments, and can deliver high-volume wafer-scale coatings for various consumer applications. The company’s unique, ultra-durable, zero-shift optical coatings are MIL-Spec tested for humidity, salt fog, abrasion, temperature cycle, adhesion, solubility, and more.

Deposition Sciences, Inc. (DSI) – Santa Rosa, CA – www.depsci.com - For over 25 years, Deposition Sciences has produced the most durable optical thin film filter coatings in the industry. DSI’s coating capability ranges from the ultraviolet (UV), through the visible and includes near-infrared (NIR), midwave-infrared (MWIR) and out to the longwave-infrared (LWIR). At the heart of these coating capabilities for optics and other thin film technologies are DSI’s patented MicroDyn® reactive sputtering technology enabling superior multilayer thin film coatings, and the company's IsoDyn™ LPCVD method that permits exceptionally conformal optical coatings on complex shapes and sizes.
