New Flange from Hollaender® Provides Solution for Solar Racking Systems On Narrow Gauge Metal Roofing
CINCINNATI, OH - Hollaender has announced the introduction of the 47R in 1-1/2 inch IPS size wide footprint flange used to attach solar racking systems and railings to narrow gauge metal roofing. This new design provides an affordable solution for applications on narrow gauge corrugated metal where the load must be spread out further and where numerous fasteners are required.
Features of the 47R include a footprint of 6 inch x 8 ½ inch, which will spread the mounting load over a larger surface. This new design ensures adequate pullout force and torque resistance by the use of twenty-two 5/16 inch mounting holes that take ¼ inch TEK screws. In addition, Hollaender set screws are incorporated in the base to ensure maximum pullout force.
The 47R can be used to mount roof attached railing systems and passes the IBC code of 50 lb. per linear foot. It is currently available in 1 ½ inch IPS size. Demand will be monitored to see if other sizes in 1 ¼ inch or 2 inch IPS are warranted.
