Transmagic Upgrades 3D CAD Translators; Transmagic R3.1 Offers Expanded File Compatibility



WESTMINSTER, CO., March 13, 2003 - TransMagic, makers of stand-alone 3D CAD translation software products, announced today that it has released R3.1 to the market for its TransMagic and TransMagic Plus products.

TransMagic R3.1 builds on previous features and functions by adding support for Pro/ENGINEER assembly files, binary and compressed files, and expanded translator settings and options offering users the ability to read in more files.

Using vendor-specific terminology, these settings allow easier translation of complex entities, and boost users' ability to choose entity types to be translated. Examples include the transfer of attributes in Pro/E files; settings to read blanked parts in Unigraphics; choice for 'no pick' entities in CATIA; read in and write of CATIA V5 attributes (TransMagic Plus only); read Free Curves in IGES
o Improved translation log reporting functions provide file content information key to translation success
o Ability to read binary files from Pro/E and Unigraphics
