New Smart Camera Simplifies 2D Reading for Manufacturers
February, 2002 - Renton, Wash.: Microscan's latest smart camera, Quadrus EZ(TM), is the next generation in 2D reading. By combining the functionality of a vision system with the ease of use and price point of a laser bar code scanner, Quadrus EZ(TM) provides manufacturers with an out-of-the-box solution for decoding both linear and 2D symbologies.
Regardless if a manufacturer is using linear bar codes or 2D symbologies, only two steps are required to set-up Quadrus EZ(TM). Using patented, leading edge technology, the field of view locator allows the user to positively align the reader to the symbol in a matter of seconds without the use of video monitors or even a PC. Once the symbol is aligned, all the user needs to do is push the "auto" button located on the back. Quadrus EZ(TM) will automatically calibrate on the symbol.
