Flameproof Diesel Engine Air Shutoff for Group 1 Hazardous Areas



A new flameproof Chalwyn SVX electrically operated air intake shutdown valve has been introduced by AMOT to provide failsafe diesel engine safety in underground mining or similar applications calling for Group 1 certification. This energised-to-run unit has a non-sparking zinc alloy body and solenoid cover that has passed the required safety tests.

This failsafe valve helps to prevent potential explosions from diesel engine ignition on any type of mine or plant wherever there is a combustible gas, vapour or dust hazard.

Chalwyn SVX butterfly valves are offered in a wide range of models and can be flange or hose mounted with a combination of body sizes and hose adaptors to suit engine air intake diameters from 38 to 203mm (1½-8in).
