LuminentOIC Announces 4.25 Gb/s Fibre Channel CWDM and DWDM SFP Transceivers
CHATSWORTH, Calif., Nov. 29 -- LuminentOIC, a leading supplier of metro transceivers, CWDM & DWDM solutions, and Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) solutions, has extended its line of SFP Transceivers to include 4.25Gb/s Fibre Channel CWDM and DWDM interfaces.
As storage area networks (SANs) migrate to 4.25Gb/s, the need for extending these networks has evolved to 4.25Gb/s. LuminentOIC is introducing CWDM and DWDM products covering 10-km, 40-km, and 80-km reaches. The products support multi-rate operation at the FC-400 baud rate of 4.25Gb/s, the FC-200 baud rate of 2.125Gb/s and the FC-100 baud rate of 1.062Gb/s, as well as the Gigabit Ethernet rate of 1.25Gbps. This will enable customers to remotely connect SANs over greater distances using native Fibre Channel or Ethernet interfaces.

The CWDM product family is available in 18 wavelengths ranging from 1270nm to 1610nm. The DWDM product family supports 46 channels in the C-band, from ITU channel 15 through 61. Both products are available immediately building on existing product platforms currently shipping in high volume.
