Trimble Releases Settop M1 for Monitoring Solutions.

Enhanced Total Station and Trimble 4D Control Functionality for Monitoring Applications

Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the release of a new monitoring device, the Settop M1 Monitoring Controller. The device enhances the operation of a Trimble Total Station with Trimble 4D Control software. The Settop M1 combines the functionality of a field computer, device server, router and remote switch all into one device, streamlining the number of components needed in the field for mining, buildings, dams, bridges and other structural monitoring applications.

The announcement was made at Trimble Dimensions.

The Settop M1 has a simple, easy-to-use web interface, whic`h provides additional functionality for controlling a total station, including the site setup and the scheduling of measurement cycles. Since the Settop M1 runs autonomously and has a large onboard memory, it is able to buffer measurement cycles, enabling continuous data acquisition even if the network connection to T4D is disrupted. Once the connection is restored, the Settop M1 seamlessly transmits all buffered data to Trimble 4D Control.

"The Settop M1 enables remote access to the Trimble Total Station, which simplifies the setup and configuration process for our customers," said Shawn Hilliard, business area director of Trimble Monitoring Solutions. "We're excited about the opportunities this device brings to customers. It's not just a communication device, it also serves as a gateway for remotely managing a total station in real-time."

Availability The Settop M1 monitoring device is available now from Trimble's Monitoring Distribution Network.
