Promess to Introduces New Line of Compact Table-Top Servo Press Assembly Stations at IMTS 2014

Designed as an ideal tool for batch assembly operations, the Promess table-top assembly press is an optimum solution for high precision applications such as small valve and electrical/electronic component assembly. Other potential applications include precision joining, join on contact, riveting, testing and measuring, surface checking, press fitting, clipping, and bending.

Promess’ new table-top assembly stations are all-electric, providing a clean, low-noise working environment free of air and oil leaks. They are also highly energy-efficient because the EMAP only consumes energy during the actual work cycle, unlike hydraulic and pneumatic systems that require constantly running power sources.
The compact design integrates a work area guard door, an easily re-locatable pendant mounted E-Stop button and LED-illuminated work area into a single unit to make optimum use of valuable floorspace. And, the ability to accept input voltages from 120 VAC single phase to 480 VAC three phase allow the assembly station to be located virtually anywhere in most industrial facilities.
The EMAP is a servo motor driven ball screw press with on board force and position monitoring. Because the EMAP is servo driven, the entire system is easily programmed either on or off-line, and easily reconfigured to handle a variety of different parts and/or operations. In-process verification and data acquisition with part traceability capability for part tracking are all standard. The standard suite of Promess MotionPRO software supports programmable position and force commands to the EMAP.
