Casio Expands PRO TREK Series with New Outdoor Activity Timepiece

Casio PRO TREK PRW-3500 Features 200-Meter Water Resistance and Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology

MESSE BASEL, Switzerland -- Consistently raising the bar, Casio America, Inc. has introduced a rugged and versatile timepiece to its outdoor activity PRO TREK line. The PRW-3500 is the first PRO TREK watch to feature 200-meter water resistance, Casio's next-generation Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology, and Tough Solar Power, making it a must-have accessory for outdoor enthusiasts. The PRW-3500 will be on display for the first time at Baselworld 2015 in Switzerland from March 19-26 in Hall 1.2.

"As the timepiece landscape evolves, we continuously innovate to bring the most advanced features to our adventure-seeking consumers," said David Johnson, vice president of Casio's Timepiece Division. "Thanks to the high level of water protection, the PRW-3500 can be worn with confidence during any number of outdoor activities such as surfing, diving, kayaking, and rafting."

Based on Casio's PRW-3000, which has a digital display and is water resistant up to 100 meters, the 200 meter water resistance found in the PRW-3500 allows outdoor enthusiasts to take their adventures to new heights--and depths. Like its predecessor, the PRW-3500 boasts Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology which includes a direction sensor and pressure sensor for compass and altimeter/barometer readings. The atmospheric sensor includes a pressure trend alarm to keep users informed of any sudden pressure swings that might otherwise be overlooked. The timepiece also enables the user to effortlessly check--and record--all the needed information on outdoor conditions. In addition, the PRW-3500 can be operated easily even if the user is wearing gloves, thanks to its large buttons, non-slip surfaces and a register ring that has been shaped for easy gripping.

With Casio's Tough Solar Power technology, the PRW-3500  eliminates the need for battery changes. After a full-charge, the timepiece has a battery life of approximately 23 months without further exposure to light and a special Power Save feature allows the timepiece to power down when not exposed to light for a certain period of time, thus conserving energy. This eco-friendly, solar battery-powered timepiece can be charged even in low or fluorescent light. In addition, the PRW-3500 features a full auto LED backlight which illuminates in the dark with just a tilt of the wrist.

Equipped with Casio's Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology, the PRW-3500 alleviates concerns about changing the time for Daylight Saving Time or leap years. This timepiece automatically synchronizes with atomic clocks in the US, Germany, the UK, China and two in Japan based on the user's home city setting.

The PRW-3500 is available this spring at select jewelers and retailers nationwide. It comes in three colors including: silver bezel with black resin band (MSRP: $300), orange bezel with orange resin band (MSRP: $320), and black bezel with titanium band (MSRP: $450).
