New Router Offers Powerful 2-1/4 Max HP Motor with Soft-Start and Variable Speed Control
Brookfield, WI Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation announces the availability of the next generation of the popular BodyGrip(R) Router, the model 5616-21 BodyGrip EVS Router. This new router has a powerful 13 Amp, 2-1/4 Max HP Milwaukee-built motor and has premium electronic feedback circuitry that provides electronic variable speed control (10,000 to 24,000 RPM) and soft-start allowing the user to match tool speed to the routing task.
The BodyGrip(R)'s exclusive linear height adjustment system enables fast, precise adjustments providing coarse adjustments to within 1/8-inch and microfine adjustments to 1/64-inch. The exclusive BodyGrip design features a tactile palm grip body and handles for comfort and control.
Variations of the new BodyGrip(R) EVS Router include a kit version (model 5616-21), as well as just the router (model 5616-20). The kit version features an impact resistant carrying case with integral RouterStation(TM). This innovative design permits convenient storage of the unit with the installed router bit and preset height adjustment. This removable base fastens securely to any work surface, has on-board collet wrench storage and accommodates all routers with a 6-inch or less wide sub-base. The router accepts industry standard edge and template guide accessories.
For added convenience and comfort, the new router features the Milwaukee exclusive above-the-table linear height adjustment system. A 3/8-inch hex socket can be accessed through the base of the router, eliminating the need for users to reach under the router table to adjust the router bit's cutting height. A durable rubber dust-shield allows for easy, dust-free access to the height adjustment system. The router also features a heavy-duty motor shield that maximizes airflow and minimizes contamination in router table applications.
A wide 2-1/2-inch sub-base center hole, more than twice the size of competitive units, provides maximum bit visibility and clearance. Multi-position soft-grip handles are keyed to prevent accidental release. A large steel motor lock lever ensures the router motor is secured. A special "Flat-Top" cover design speeds and simplifies bit changes. The durable 22 Amp rocker switch is located for easy operator access and convenience.
The BodyGrip(R) EVS Router is powered by a double insulated 2-1/4 Max HP (13 Amp, 10,000 to 24,000 RPM) motor. The routers are equipped with 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch premium self-releasing collets. Other design features include 100% sealed ball and roller bearings and a 6-inch diameter sub-base.
