Roll-Fed Labeler runs at high speed with improved safety.

Press Release Summary:

Enhanced BH8000 operates at speeds of more than 800 cpm, yet is safer than previous model. Vacuum Drum blows label off during machine set-up, eliminating need for operator to reach into moving components. Automatic spring-back glue roller pulls gluewheel away from vacuum drum in case machine loses air pressure, preventing vacuum drum damage. It handles container sizes from 220 ml to 3 L. Changeovers can be performed by one person in 15 to 20 min.

B & H Introduces Enhanced BH8000 Roll-Fed Labeller

Applications: beverage, food, cosmetic/personal care, and household products packaged in glass, plastic, composite, and metal containers

At stand 12-C-23 in hall 12 B&H Labelling Systems introduces the new Enhanced BH8000 roll-fed labeller. Value-added features incorporated into the Enhanced BH8000 labellers boost productivity, increase safety, and improve labelling accuracy at speeds of over 800 cpm.

A new Computerized Registration System (CRS(R)) automatically maintains optimum registration and features operator-friendly Touchscreen controls that simplify troubleshooting and labeller operation. This advanced motion control system provides increased network capability and allows centralized maintenance, monitoring, and configuration. The system software is portable using a PCC system card, and offers multi-threaded program support. A TCP/IP device enables remote support via modem or Intranet, and a digital drive network permits easier system error diagnostics.

Container sizes ranging from 220ml to 3L can be accommodated on the Enhanced BH8000 labellers. Faster changeovers are accomplished with a new variable pitch Main Starwheel that eliminates traditional chain adjustments, and a belt tensioner on the Infeed Starwheel Drive that eliminates adjustments to the gear arrangement. Production line downtime can be further reduced with the addition of optional Rapid Change Over (RCO(R)) change parts, which allow changeovers to be performed by one person in fifteen to twenty minutes.

A durable Belt Drive replaces traditional chains, resulting in quieter operation with less mess, less maintenance, and reduced replacement costs. A redesigned Vacuum Turbine, moved inside the machine frame, also helps reduce labeller noise. The Enhanced BH8000 is equipped with a new oil-lubricated Cutter that operates at cooler temperatures and provides optimum performance during continuous, high-speed labelling applications. A new Micro-Adjust Cutter simplifies blade adjustments and improves labeller performance. The Cutter Stationary Shear remains truly stationary during operation, ensuring consistently accurate label cutting.

New standard features also include a mechanical spring-loaded Tension Control Brake, which improves label control and handling and requires less maintenance and fewer adjustments than a comparable electric model, and a Micro-Adjust Glue Roller, which simplifies precise adjustments and ensures accurate adhesive application.

Two additional features introduced on the Enhanced BH8000 labellers improve safety and prevent labeller damage. An innovative new Vacuum Drum blows the label off during machine set-up, eliminating the need for an operator to reach into moving components. A new automatic spring-back Glue Roller pulls the Gluewheel away from the Vacuum Drum in the event the machine loses air pressure, preventing Vacuum Drum damage.

Located in Ceres, California, B&H Labelling Systems introduced the first viable roll-fed label application system in 1969. The company is known worldwide for innovative, solution-driven engineering, high quality workmanship, and the unequaled reliability of its equipment. B&H maintains global representation to offer service and technical support to its worldwide customer base.
