Right Angle End Prep Tool Performs Power Plant Tube Repairs
A right angle I.D. clamping welding end prep tool that has a large clamping range for repairing water wall-, pendant-, and super heater tubes in power plants is available from ESCO Tool of Medfield, Massachusetts.
The "Wart" MILLHOG® Right Angle I.D. Clamping End Prep Tool covers a 3/4" I.D. to 4-1/2" O.D. clamping range and can handle heavy wall- and highly alloyed tubes. Featuring a compact design that only requires a 2-5/8" wide clearance to fit between boiler tubes, this tool can fit into tight areas for single tube replacement and simultaneously bevel, flat face, and bore.
Featuring an efficient 1-1/4 hp motor with a gear drive supported by dual opposed tapered roller bearings, the "Wart" MILLHOG® Right Angle I.D. Clamp-ing End Prep Tool has a separate bearing support for the cutter head. It uses the EscoLock(TM) wedge-style blade lock system with TiN coated cutter blades, and can pull a continuous thick chip without cutting oils.
