Steel City® RPT6 Recessed Poke-Through Floor Box Maximizes Cabling Capacity
New Thomas & Betts Floor Box Provides Recessed Service in 6-Inch Holes
MEMPHIS, Tenn., – The Steel City® RPT6 recessed poke-through floor boxes, new from Thomas & Betts (T&B), provide maximized capacity for power and communications wiring in single-core drill locations at the second floor and above in commercial buildings.
The recessed service conceals devices below the floor level.
“The Steel City RPT6 recessed poke-through floor box offers a configurable solution for high-capacity power wiring and communications cabling,” Ralph Donati, product marketing director at T&B, said. “Given the limitations on the number of holes the builder may drill in a floor, the builder must provide the maximum capacity in each location. The Steel City RPT6 recessed poke-through floor box provides 3-gang service with more capacity than in more typical 3-inch and 4-inch holes.”
The Steel City RPT6 recessed poke-through floor box is compatible with off-the-shelf wiring devices, while its center compartment will accept GFCI outlets, as well as 20-amp and 30-amp twist-lock devices. The configurable compartment bottom junction box includes four plates enabling a contractor or specifier to run varying sizes of conduit through 1 ¼-, 1 ½- or 2-inch knockouts. Units are available with solid brass, brushed aluminum or black covers.
The Steel City RPT6 recessed poke-through floor box is rated for the UL® 263 two-hour fire test.
All T&B floor boxes are now available prewired and preconfigured though the eFab™ department.
