IRVINE, Calif., March 6 - ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity solutions to manage servers and other network devices, today announced a new space-saving LCD KVM console that can be mounted in less than 1U of rack space. The new CL1758 Slideaway(TM) LCD KVM Switch is an 8-port, rackmount LCD KVM switch that features a 15" or 17" high-resolution monitor, full keyboard, and touchpad.

The unit's innovative Slideaway design offers IT administrators flexible and space-saving functionality for their growing network environments. The CL1758's dual interface support allows administrators to connect both PS/2 and USB computers on the same switch. The multi-platform support allows users to control Windows-based computers, Sun Solaris systems, Linux and Macs. Through cascading, the unit is capable of controlling up to 512 servers.

"With many data centers continuing to expand and some filled to capacity, our new CL1758 Slideaway LCD KVM unit allows IT administrators to take full advantage of its space-saving design," said Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN Technology, Inc. "With the CL1758, users can reclaim precious rack space and control a range of servers in the data center."
