Ergonomic Pushbutton Switches - AV Series

APEM, a manufacturer of professional switches, has expanded their line of security pushbutton switches with new models featuring a large ergonomic actuator.

These metal pushbuttons, equipped with a 30 mm diameter mushroom head button, can be operated in different ways (finger, fist, foot) in the harshest environmental conditions. They can resist shocks up to 20 joules, due to a mechanical stop which restricts the actuator travel and protects the contact and mechanism against crushing. They are front panel sealed to IP65. In addition, their large anodized aluminum button is offered in several colors and provides a very attractive cosmetic appearance.

These switches are mainly used for event signaling or initiation on hand and foot operated machines, as well as call buttons for such applications as bus or other conveyance stops and pedestrian crossings.

The AV Series consists of many switch configurations with 10 to 30 mm diameter buttons and a wide choice of material, shape and marking options. Mian specifications include silver/nickel alloy contacts, nickel plated brass bushing, anodized aluminum actuator and solder lug or quick-connect terminals. With ratings up to 5A at 250VAC, they provide 50,000 cycles of electrical life and 1,000,000 cycles of mechanical life. They mount in a 22.2 mm diameter panel cutout with hardware supplied.

Pricing for a typical switch, single pole model no. AV22PNA3A is $17.12 each in 1000 piece quantities.
