B.E.G. Controls Introduces MINI Sensors to U.S. Market

Ceiling mount sensors about the size of a quarter

ATLANTA, Ga. – B.E.G. Controls, a leading manufacturer of a comprehensive line of indoor and outdoor motion, occupancy and vacancy sensors for both commercial and residential applications, has introduced its MINI sensors to the U.S. market.

The MINI sensor – about the size of a quarter – are the smallest ceiling mount sensors on the market, yet are equipped with a complete array of features. The B.E.G. MINI sensor offers superior PIR (passive infrared) detection than its competitors and provides a wider range of coverage than a full size sensor. With the B.E.G. sensors mounted at a ceiling height of eight feet, coverage is 32 feet or 10 meters.

"For more than a quarter century B.E.G. Controls has dominated the European marketplace and now we're offering the same high quality sensors here in the United States (and Canada)," said Michael "M.J." Johnson, Vice President, U.S. Sales & Operations. "Our sensors are of the highest quality and provide more coverage than any product in the marketplace."

The MINI sensor can be programmed for either occupancy or vacancy mode and all settings can be remotely adjusted using password protected Android or iOS smartphone apps. The MINI, which can be used in either indoor or outdoor applications, includes a photocell and four secondary sensors can be added to extend coverage.

The B.E.G. Controls Power Pack includes three programmable switch inputs. In addition to the 20 amp relay for swithcing lighting loads, it also has a 3 amp relay to interface with HVAC systems. Plus, the sensor connection to the Power Pack is low voltage making it flexible to add or remove sensors. As many as five MINI sensors can be connected to a single Power Pack.
