Broadcast Pix Launches Live Production & Streaming Bundles at InfoComm 2010

Combines Broadcast Pix Video, ViewCast Streaming and Yamaha Audio for Integrated, Cost-Effective Production and Streaming Solution

(Billerica, Massachusetts). Broadcast Pix(TM) is launching its Live Production & Streaming Bundles, a promotion that packages its Granite(TM) and Slate(TM) video production systems with a ViewCast Niagara streaming media appliance and Yamaha audio mixer, today at InfoComm 2010 in Las Vegas, Nev. (Booth N2662). The bundles are priced from $16,490 and include software to control the audio and streaming from the Broadcast Pix system.

"We've collected the essential tools you need to create and stream compelling live video for events, broadcasts, and presentations," explained Ken Swanton, President, Broadcast Pix. "Broadcast Pix is known for delivering an entire integrated video production system that one person can control. Our new Bundles extend the 'one-man-band' to also control audio and streaming. It can simultaneously output HD-SDI, SD-SDI, analog, DVI, and stream either Windows Media or Flash, so it's an ideal way to help your operation establish multimedia distribution."

Video: Each bundle include a Broadcast Pix 100 or 1000 video production system, each of which includes a 1 M/E production switcher and Fluent(TM) workflow tools, including a clip store that holds up to 120 hours, CG and graphics system, integrated multi-view, macros with file-based effects, and watch-folders that streamline file import from editing and graphics systems. Slate models excel in hybrid multi-format applications and are already used in more than 70 countries. Granite models combine an HD switcher and HD server - and are upgradable to 1080p.

Streaming: Each bundle includes a ViewCast Niagara streaming media appliance with SimulStream technology, which allows simultaneous streaming to multiple digital media platforms. Built on ViewCast's Osprey technology, the compact Niagara 2100 (Windows Media output) or Niagara 2120 (Flash output) provides uncompromised performance and reliability, and its built-in Web interface allows complete control from anywhere on the network while simplifying setup and operation.

"By integrating live video streaming capabilities through the integration of the ViewCast Web services platform, Broadcast Pix has leveraged the power of our Niagara streaming appliances to create a very compelling solution for the delivery of video to broadband and mobile networks -- and the new Live Production & Streaming Bundles make it an even more cost-effective solution," said Dave Stoner, President and CEO, ViewCast.

Audio: The Live Production & Streaming Bundles can also include a Yamaha 01V96VCM digital mixing console. A compact unit designed for maximum portability, it offers 24 bit / 96 kHz operation and built-in VCM audio effects. The 01V96VCM can handle up to 40 inputs and can be cascaded if more are required.

Integration Software: Software included in each bundle enables the Broadcast Pix control panel and user interface through TCP/IP control to select, monitor, and control up to 12 ViewCast streams. Additional software enables the Yamaha mixer to automatically follow the actions on the switcher through MIDI control, so when cameras or clips are selected, the desired microphones or clip audio is chosen. And both streamer and audio control actions can be integrated into the Broadcast Pix Fluent Macro memory system.

Bundle pricing without the audio mixer start at $16,490, which is a $3,300 savings compared to purchasing the equipment and software separately. Packages are also available with the Yamaha mixer from $19,189. Leasing options are also available. The bundles will be available starting in July.
