Pressure Sensors detect high intensity acoustics.

Press Release Summary:

Series 106 and 116 can measure low-level pressure and high-intensity acoustic and ultrasonic sound pressure levels. Both have solid-state construction, no moving parts, stainless steel housings, high frequency range, and up to 500 mV/psi sensitivity. Applications include monitoring pulsations, turbulence, and noise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems; detecting pressure fluctuations in compressors, turbines, pumps and pipe lines; and measuring noise of jet engines.

High Sensitivity Pressure Sensors Detect High Intensity Acoustic Sound Pressure Levels

May 22, 2002, Depew, NY - Series 106 and 116 dynamic pressure sensors, from the Pressure Division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., offer the ability to measure both low-level pressure and high-intensity sound pressure levels, both acoustic and ultrasonic. The sensors are useful for measurements in a variety of applications including: monitoring pulsations, turbulence, and noise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems; detecting pressure fluctuations in exhaust systems, compressors, turbines, pumps and pipe lines; and measuring noise of jet engines, rocket motors, and weapons discharge. Pressure monitoring leads to increased efficiencies, reduced maintenance, and trims waste in process systems.

Two ICP® versions feature on-board electronics to provide a conditioned output signal for ease of use. Other charge mode units, without electronics, withstand temperatures to 750°F (400°C). The units feature solid-state construction, no moving parts, stainless steel housings, high frequency range, and up to 500 mV/psi sensitivity.
