Pentax Survey Instrument Division Announces New R-122N and R-123N Reflectorless Total Stations

DENVER, Colorado (November 5, 2001): PENTAX Corporation Survey Instrument Division announces two new total stations in the popular reflectorless R-Series: the R-122N and R-123N.

The R-122N has a DIN angle accuracy of two seconds, distance accuracy of 2mm+2ppm and two keyboard/displays. The R-123N has a DIN angle accuracy of three seconds, distance accuracy of 3mm+2ppm and one keyboard/display (second display optional). Distance range, for both models, is 11,000 feet to a single prism, 1,300 feet to reflective tape and 280 feet to objects.

Features shared by both the R-122N and the R-123N include Triple Focusing System (Auto Focus, Power Focus and Manual Focus), visible laser dot, absolute encoders, internal memory for 7500 data points, Dual-Axis compensator, and eight line high contrast display(s). Temperature and pressure sensors are built into the instrument for automatic PPM correction calculations.

The "Triple Focusing System" has a phase differential Auto Focus which achieves pin sharp focusing, in an instant, with just the press of a button. The motorized Power Focus lets the user control the focusing operation with minimal hand movement.

Both models have powerful PSF software on-board. Functions include: Coordinate Stake Out, Distance Stake Out, Missing Line (RDM), Coordinates, Offset Shots, Remote Elevation (REM), Resection, Data Storage and Memory Management.

The memory can be used for data storage and coordinates for stake out. Data functions include Coordinates Send - Receive - Edit, Survey Data Send - Receive - Edit, Remaining Memory, Manual Data Entry, and Communication Setup.
