Original Press Release:

Pipe Milling End Prep Tool Features Oversize I.D. Clamping System

A new, air-powered pipe milling end prep tool that rigidly mounts inside the pipe I.D. and has dual opposed tapered roller bearings to assure smooth operation has been introduced by ESCO Tool of Medfield, Massachusetts.

The Commander MILLHOG® Model C-314 features oversize clamp ribs that fit into the pipe I.D. and have six contact points to spread the radial load and minimize vibration for chatter-free end preps on both thin and heavy wall pipe. Fully portable, it has dual opposed tapered roller bearings and pulls a thick chip without cutting oils on pipe from 3.75" I.D. to 14" O.D.

Providing one mandrel and only seven sets of clamps to cover the entire range of the tool, the Commander MILLHOG® Model C-314 has a 3 HP air motor that develops over 2,000 ft.-lbs. of torque at the cutting bit. Torque can be doubled by adding an optional torque-multiplying right angle drive which simply bolts on and lets users mount the motor in numerous positions.

The Commander MILLHOG® Model C-314 sells for $ 12,995. complete, including tools and a metal carrying case and can be rented for $ 85.00 per day in the continental U.S.A. Literature is available upon request.
