Recora Switchmat(R) From AMI Protects Workers, Meets All Safety Regulations

CINCINNATI, OH (October 29, 2001) - Rugged and dependable Recora Switchmat® pressure-sensitive perimeter controls from Automated Machinery, Inc. (AMI) are ideal for companies facing the challenges of protecting workers and conforming to exacting safety regulations.

Industrial strength Recora Switchmats are 3/8" and are completely molded in solid vinyl surrounding two hcavy steel plates that form an electrode covcring the entire mat to immediately stop machinery and robots. All Switchmats comply with ANSI/RIA standards for robot and machine guarding. Switchmats are designed and constructed to resist oil, dirt, weld spatter, harsh chemicals and liquids, and severe temperature. Yet, despite their strength, Switchmats are sensitive to the slightest touch of a worker's foot over 95 percent of the surface.

Standard sensitivity is 10 to 15 pounds. The Series 14H and 14D Switchmats provide effective safety barriers for both workers and vehicles entering hazardous or restricted machine and production areas.

They are ideal for creating safe zones around machinery like turret punch presses. They can be wired to stop or start robotic applications, machinery, doors, alarms or most any type of mechanical or moving equipment.

When safety and security areas don't conform to standard Switchmat sizes, Series 14H and 14D are ideal for customization. And activation pressure for Series 14H and 14D Switchmats can be manufactured to meet almost any sensitivity requirement.

AMI is a complete fabricating equipment service provider, offering technical emergency service, scheduled maintenance programs, machine evaluations and installations as well as machine rebuilds, upgrades and retrofits.
