New PC/104 Motion Controller Board for Embedded Systems

Sunnyvale, CA - Cito Systems, Inc. announces a new product line of high performance feature-rich PC/104-bus multi-axis motion controllers, ideal for embedded system applications. These controllers harness the power of the advanced high-speed DSP chip featuring an advanced PID filter and incorporate ASIC and surface mount technologies. The Millennium controllers are available in configurations of 1, 2 or 4 axes for brush or brushless, mixed brush and brushless as well as stepper or microstepper motors.

The DSP unit provides S-curve, trapezoidal, velocity contouring and electronic gearing motion profile modes for various motor outputs. 64 kByte Dual-Port RAM allows very fast data exchange and to capture on-the-fly motion data for analyzing system performance, tuning servo filter gains and diagnostic purposes. Motion trajectory segments can be blended into the continuous motion path. The fast synchronization signal allows multiple boards to perform coordinated motion.

The boards interface to external components via a 100-pin high density connector. It provides +/-10V differential analog or PWM motor outputs and reads single-ended and differential incremental or absolute encoder signals. The connector also supplies opto-isolated dedicated input signals for limit switches, home and fault functions. They can run from +5, +12V, +24V or +48V level supplies. 8 uncommitted discrete output lines can operate at TTL level or up to 50V. These are high current opto-isolated signals capable of sinking or sourcing maximum 350 mA at 50V and can serve as servo amp enable or drive relays, solenoids, lamps or LEDs. The TTL level signals can be expanded to 128 discrete outputs. In addition the board has 8 discrete input lines and 8 analog input channels working in range of 0 to +5V.

The cards are supported by MotionStation(TM), an Integrated Motion Environment (IME) that includes drivers, software libraries and GUI applications for all Windows and Linux operating systems. It allows development of any motion control application.

The card is supported by C-MotionPlus(TM) and CyberMotion(TM) - extensive C-language software libraries and Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP and Linux drivers which allow development of any motion control application. EasyMotion, a Windows application package with the industry's first ever MotionWizard, assists in a quick and easy way to set up and tune even complex electro-mechanical systems.

The boards can be used in a variety of industries, such as robotic, machine tool, semiconductor, medical, food processing and textile.
