Advantech Launches PIT-1501W Rugged, Medically Certified Patient Infotainment Terminal
Irvine, California, - Advantech, a leading provider of medically certified terminals and tablet PCs, announces today the launch of its PIT-1501W patient infotainment terminal. The PIT-1501W is a UL60601-1/EN60601-1 certified unit with IP65/NEMA4 sealing that allows hospital patients to watch movies and television, make phone calls, play games and communicate via the Internet from the comfort of their beds. The terminal empowers physicians and nurses by allowing them to look up a patient's medical records and lab results at the point-of-care.
The PIT-1501W is a state-of-the-art multifunction patient infotainment terminal equipped with a 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen display that provides HDTV standard 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. It allows for viewing of HD television content via an optional digital TV tuner. The terminal is powered by efficient, low-voltage Intel® Atom(TM) Z530 1.6 GHz processors that enable silent, fanless operation and low power consumption. The versatile unit can be used and mounted virtually anywhere - it weighs less than ten pounds (even with the optional handset) and is a mere 2.5 inches thick.
Based on the Windows XP Embedded OS platform or Linux, the PIT-1501W can be configured to provide a wide variety of entertainment, diagnostic and communications services. As with all Advantech patient infotainment systems, the camera equipped PIT-1501W is rugged, sealed, and easy to disinfect. It offers a variety of safety and security features such as LED indicator lights, nurse call buttons and RFID and Smart Card readers.
The PIT-1501W can be ideally implemented anywhere patient comfort and medical computing solutions need to be addressed, such as patient rooms, chemotherapy centers, dialysis centers and surgical waiting rooms. Its all-in-one design includes its CPU, memory, HDD, OS, camera, RFID, and wi-fi - eliminating the hassle of integrating peripherals. Furthermore, being fanless, it creates no noise and dust. With its 75/100mm VESA mounting holes, the PIT-1501W can be easily mounted on a swing arm, nursing cart or stand.
