INCON INTRODUCES NEW 4-20mA PANEL METER FOR HYDRO APPLICATIONS

Model 1511 Specifically Designed to Accept 4-20mA Sensor Inputs

SACO, MAINE, INCON (AMEX:ITC.EC) - INCON announces the release of the Model 1511 Universal Sensor Monitor designed to improve automation schemes at hydroelectric, flood control, water treatment and hydro applications by accepting inputs from a variety of sensors that generate 4-20mA signals. The unit is designed for signal conditioning and sophisticated mathematical analysis, including nonlinear functions and corrections, to determine position at ±0.02% of full-scale accuracy.

The new Model 1511 can be programmed for precise indication of valve/gate position, liquid level or flow and volume with user-friendly, menu-driven setup modes. Data appears in user-defined units such as degrees, percent, or feet above or below sea level on a large, five-digit LED display. Optional relay outputs can trigger alarms or automated controls when pre-set limits are reached. Sensor-to-monitor field calibrations can be made without the need for additional equipment, and the Model 1511 uses battery-backed RAM memory to retain operating status and programmed parameters during power interruptions.

Jeff Golarz, Sales & Marketing Manager for INCON's line of Power Reliability Systems, stated, "The Model 1511 device is the most versatile, user-friendly panel meter available to the Hydro industry today. Its acceptance of universal sensor inputs supports a large range of applications in hydroelectric facilities."

The unit is also adaptable to various communication modes. A standard RS-232 communication port is provided for serial data logging, chart recording, and other uses (i.e., RS-232/485, Binary Coded Decimal [BCD], etc.).
