Panel Array Antennas deliver variable polarization technology.

Press Release Summary:

Designed for digital, mobile, and analog TV, PCP and PEP Series Broadband UHF Antennas support user-defined polarization ratios from horizontal to elliptical for full circular polarization. PEP Series provides 20 kW per layer, independent of polarization, while PCP Series provides 16 kW per layer. Units feature 200 MHz of bandwidth to meet wide variety of frequency requirements, and provide uniform coverage without scalloping created by most panel antennas.

New Panel Array Antennas from RFS Deliver Variable Polarization Technology (VPT) for Individually-Configurable Polarization Ratios

Las Vegas: Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, is increasing flexibility and reducing costs for broadcasters with highly configurable broadband panel array antennas that support user-defined polarization ratios from horizontal to elliptical for full circular polarization. Specific arrays can be configured so each broadcaster can choose their own polarization ratio then change it in the future with minimal cost RFS, which has been designing and building industry-leading panel antennas for more than 40 years, is introducing its PCP- and PEP-series of broadband UHF antennas at the 2010 NAB Show being held April 12-15 in Las Vegas. At the show, RFS is featuring state-of-the-art products and technologies that help mobile broadcasters gain an advantage over their competitors by leveraging cutting-edge technology.

"We are very excited to launch our Variable Polarization Technology at the 2010 NAB Show," says Martyn Kemel, President, Broadcast and Defense Systems at RFS. "This technology is used in both the PCP and PEP broadband panel arrays and gives the individual broadcaster the flexibility to choose the polarization ratio that works for them - independent of the ratio used by others in the same array."

Designed for digital TV (DTV), mobile DTV and analog TV, the new antennas enable broadcasters to easily and cost effectively adapt polarization to meet their individual business objectives as they evolve. For example, broadcasters who want only horizontal polarization today, yet want the flexibility to support future initiatives, such as mobile broadcasting, can select horizontal polarization today and elliptical or circular polarization in the future without affecting other broadcasters sharing the antenna.

The PCP and PEP antennas also deliver:

- High power ratings to support more broadcasters and reduce the cost for each broadcaster using the antenna. The PEP series provides 20 kW per layer, independent of polarization, while the PCP series provides 16 kW per layer.

- Excellent circularity for uniform coverage without the scalloping created by most panel antennas.

- Low wind load to minimize the structural modifications required.

- 200 MHz of bandwidth to meet a wide variety of frequency requirements

RFS specialists on hand at the 2010 NAB Show include Mick Bennett (Global Product Manager, Broadcast and Defense Systems), Jay Martin (Sales Director, Broadcast and Defense Systems, North America) and Nick Wymant (CTO, Broadcast and Defense Systems).
