Powers' New SNAKE+ Overhead Anchor Saves Installation Time

The new SNAKE(TM)+ overhead anchor from Powers Fasteners, Inc. speeds installation of threaded rods...and is one of the industry's first mechanical anchors to meet the new more stringent International Building Code (IBC) for strength design (Cracked Concrete).

The patented proprietary anchor eliminates the time consuming steps of banging in a drop-in and then using a special tool to set the expansion mechanism. It is simply set into a drilled hole and then tightened with a ½ impact wrench until flush with the ceiling and ready for the insertion of threaded rod. There is no need to swing a heavy hammer overhead while on a ladder or lift. The SNAKE+ also combines the aesthetics of an internally threaded body with the strong holding power of the popular Powers Wedge-Bolt anchor and its patented deep-cutting thread design.

Based in Brewster, New York, Powers Fasteners is the leading manufacturer of concrete anchoring systems and offers an extensive line of adhesive anchoring systems, roofing fasteners, gas and Powder actuated tools and fasteners, carbide drill bits and mechanical anchoring systems. The company has been serving professional construction and plant maintenance markets since 1921, and has manufacturing facilities in Michigan, along with 28 regional sales locations throughout the United States.
