Fox Expands Frequency Range Of F4100 Series Crystal Oscillators To 156.25 MHz

Fox Electronics has increased the frequency range of its popular F4100 Series crystal oscillators to 156.25 MHz, from the industry standard 125 MHz. The new oscillator is ideal for Fibre Channel, SONET and ATM applications, as well as microprocessor and micro-controller applications, all of which constantly demand increased speeds and better noise characteristics. The expanded frequency range reduces the need to multiply the frequency up, providing cleaner signals and less jitter for telecommunications and other equipment.

The F4100 miniature 3.3 V oscillator offers a standby mode for lower power consumption. It also provides increased battery life, reduced heat generation and improved EMI characteristics, combined with an extremely low profile necessary for today's advanced portable PC and instrumentation design.

Operating temperature range is -10°C to +70°C as standard, with an optional range of -40°C to +85°C. Frequency stability is +100 PPM for all conditions. The F4100 Series output symmetry is 40% to 60% at 1.65 V over the entire frequency range of 125 to 156.25 MHz; input current is 60 mA maximum. The Series F4100 is available in bulk quantities or on a 2,000-unit tape and reel for
automatic assembly systems.
