They are suitable for 10G applications such as datacom, DWDM systems, SONET/SDH systems, and telecom short/intermediate/long haul systems. Both modules have sensitivity of -22 dBm typical at 9.9 Gb. R601APD has single-ended type K connector, and R602APD has dual, push-on GPPS/SSMP connectors.

Now available from Discovery Semiconductors are APD versions of the single-ended digital 2-R and differential digital 2-R optical
receivers. These modules can be used in a wide variety of l0G
applications such as datacom, DWDM systems, SONET/SDH systems, and telecom short/intermediate/and long haul systems. Both modules add the extra sensitivity of an APD (-22 dBm typical at 9.9 Gb). Delivery is within 4-6 weeks after receipt of order with the customer's choice of optical input connector and a single ended type K for the R601APD or a dual push-on GPPO/SSMP for the differential model R602APD coaxial RF output.
