(www.GAOTek.com) offers an excellent optical fiber identifier (GAO 820), which is specifically designed for engineers and technicians to identify dark or live fiber and identify excessive losses due to misalignment of mechanical splices or poor connections. This optimized device can also be used to display transmission direction, identify multiple signal frequency (270Hz, 1KHz, 2KHz) and detect bare fibers, close packed fiber and pigtails.
GAO820 optical fiber identifier uses safe and reliable macro bending technology to avoid the disruption of network communications on account of the need to discount or cut the fiber optic cable for identification and testing. With a very small signal loss, normal communications can be maintained while the GAO 820 identifies the transmission direction, speed and relative signal strength on its 5-level display.
