Module offers a quick, streamlined approach to deploying network connectivity
HICKORY, N.C. - Corning Cable Systems, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, introduces its Plug & Play(TM) Universal System Integrated Trunk Module.
A value-added addition to Corning Cable Systems' Plug & Play Universal System, the Integrated Trunk Module is a pre-terminated 12-fiber MTP® Connector trunk assembly integrated into a Plug & Play Systems module. The trunk cable is stored in the module and pulled out and deployed to meet exact length requirements, so precise pre-planning of cable length is not required.
The Integrated Trunk Module provides a quick and convenient method for deploying and redeploying optical connectivity, and is ideal for small data centers (main distribution frame to the system equipment cabinet) or large data centers (zone distribution area to the system equipment cabinet). The module eliminates one mated pair in the channel link, resulting in a lower system link-loss.
The Integrated Trunk Module features a quick-release cable tray, which slides out and tilts for easy cable access. Excess cable slack is stored in the module for efficient cable management. The factory-terminated solution provides improved system performance, component compatibility and consistent quality.
The Plug & Play Universal System is a preterminated optical fiber cabling system that dramatically streamlines the process of deploying an optical network infrastructure in the premises environment, particularly in data center applications. The innovative system is able to be installed and operational in a fraction of the time when compared to conventional field-termination methods, significantly reducing installation cost.
Through a patented manufacturing process and innovative design, the Plug & Play(TM) Universal System has no special polarity components, avoiding the polarity problems caused by incorrect placement of modules and jumpers.
