Simrit Debuts New N400 Material at the International Paris Air Show

N400 meets the stringent AMS-P-5315A specifications for O-ring use in fuel systems

PARIS, June 18, 2007 - Simrit, the industrial sealing products division of Freudenberg-NOK, has recently expanded its material product line with the debut of the N400 material for the aerospace industry. The new material meets the rigorous requirements demanded by the AMS-P-5315A (formally MIL-P-5315A) aerospace standard set forth by the Society of Automotive Engineers Aerospace Committees.

Simrit introduced the new material at the 2007 International Paris Air Show held here this week (June 18 - 24). For more information or to speak with a Simrit executive about the new N400 material, visit the Simrit booth (#B3, Hall 36) during the show.

Approved for use in O-rings and molded shapes in aircraft fuels systems, the N400 material provides low temperature flexibility to -54 degrees Celsius
(-65 degrees Fahrenheit) for prevention of leakage in sub-zero temperatures at altitudes, offers excellent resistance to aviation gasoline and jet fuels, doesn't corrode mating metal fittings and doesn't bloom or discolor (which is a typical result of other products for this specification).

"As a leader and innovator in the sealing industry, Simrit continually strives for growth, innovation and advancement as we create and discover new materials, and with them, new possibilities," said Vinay Nilkanth, vice president of aerospace, Simrit. "Simrit's introduction of the new N400 material, which meets all of the standards for the aerospace industry, is another example of the depth of expertise, knowledge and technology that Simrit offers its customers."

Simrit offers product availability, engineering expertise and advanced technology that far exceeds industry standards. In addition to offering AMS-, MIL-, AS- and NAS-approved materials, Simrit continues to develop unique materials for individual customer requirement and specific aerospace applications.

The Simrit Division is based at Freudenberg-NOK's headquarters in Plymouth, Mich. Freudenberg-NOK is part of the Freudenberg and NOK Group Companies, which have total annual sales of more than $12 billion. The global Freudenberg and NOK Group offers an extensive portfolio of precision-manufactured products for the aerospace, appliance, diesel engine, marine, off-highway equipment, oil and gas, recreational vehicle and semiconductor markets.
