AAEON's New FWS-2350 to Enhance Network Security for Growing SMEs

Hazlet, New Jersey – AAEON®, a major developer of industrial computing solutions, brings expandability to networking with the release of its latest FWS-2350 network appliance. Addressing the needs of small medium enterprises (SMEs) and small office/ home office (SOHOs), the FWS-2350 offers up to 8 Ethernet ports, two of which are Bypass configurable, providing users in these environments with network security for their expanding infrastructures. With built in QuickAssist Crypto Acceleration the FWS-2350 offers the opportunity of enhanced security capabilities. Through the use of this technology, communications are not only encrypted and decrypted in an accelerated manner, they are also provided with a uniform means of direct communication between the built in accelerators and the network application through the highly extensible API and the freely available open source frameworks.

Powered by the C2358 or C2558 processors, Intel's® latest iteration of its Atom™ processors for Communications, the FWS-2350 is a low power device consuming only 20W in normal operation. The device supports up to 16GB DDR3 RAM, providing users with ample memory for demanding applications. Other expansion options include two USB 2.0 ports and one Mini-PCIe slot.

"Though the FWS-2350 is slightly larger in size than its predecessor, the FWS-2250, it is still a very compact system offering more options for connectivity through additional Ethernet ports and greater performance with its ability to support 4 times as much RAM than other similar products on the market" said Jamie Chang, Product Manager of AAEON's Industrial System Division. "Coupled with Intel's latest QAT technology, AAEON expects the FWS-2350 to address the needs of developing businesses, offering an edge over competitors."
