Xerox Broadens Offerings to Small and Mid-Sized Businesses with Feature-Packed Desktop Multifunction Device
WorkCentre M20/M20i easily and affordably replaces standalone printers
ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 3, 2004 - Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has launched its new WorkCentre® M20/M20i multifunction device, which starts as low as $1,649 and delivers high-end functionality to the desktop. The new feature-rich product helps office workers clear out a clutter of standalone printers, copiers and fax machines and replace them with one compact, easy to use device that can print, copy, fax, scan and e-mail.
The WorkCentre M20/M20i handles both letter and legal-size documents and is available in three black-and-white configurations, each offering print and/or copy speeds of up to 22 pages per minute and an industry leading first-copy-out time of less than 9 seconds. Two-sided printing is standard in copy and print modes. Customers can opt for multiple paper trays, allowing a combination of letter and legal sized paper to be used within the same job.
In addition, a feature called "ID Card Copy" enables people to copy both sides of a document, such as a license or insurance card, onto one side of a piece of paper. Critical for medical and healthcare organizations, this feature not only reduces paper waste but it also cuts the time and steps involved to create files for patients.

The WorkCentre M20 is a digital copier/printer with color scanning. The WorkCentre M20i is a fully featured multifunction system designed to be networked. It can copy, print, color fax, and color scan to e-mail. The M20i offers fast fax speeds due to compression technology that creates smaller files that can be faxed quicker, saving time and telephone costs. It offers remote device monitoring and management capabilities through the Web. In addition, the intuitive user interface, simple print drivers and straightforward scan to e-mail capability require little to no training.
The two devices come with ScanSoft's PaperPort SE v9.0 - software that allows people to automatically create PDF files from scanned documents -- and OmniPage SE v2.0 software, which converts paper and PDF files into editable electronic documents. Both software tools eliminate numerous steps for organizing, sharing and storing documents, leading to higher worker productivity and faster access to critical information.
Customers can also choose the CopyCentre(TM) C20 configuration, a standalone digital copier with key features and functionality.
All three devices are designed so people can take them out of the box and easily install them without additional service support.
The CopyCentre C20, WorkCentre M20 and WorkCentre M20i are available immediately in North America. The estimated retail price for the CopyCentre C20 is $1,349, the WorkCentre M20 is $1,649 and the WorkCentre M20i starts at $2,199.
