ISC Introduces New Line of Mold Tooling for IP67 Mil Spec Connectors
ISC engineering introduces a new line of mold tooling for IP67 mil spec circular connectors which includes the Glenair Mighty Mouse series. With modern electronics and communication devices getting smaller and smaller. ISC is determined to stay ahead of the curve to meet customer needs, by introducing an injection molded solution for ruggedized light weight connectors that will stand up to harsh environments.
Modern field ready and soldier worn devices demand light weight and flexible solutions that will not fail in the time of need. We are able to team up with our customers to develop a solution accommodating of their stringent testing requirements.
We are certain our molded solutions will withstand a 1meter submersion. For years the only solution to obtain IP67&68 immersion ratings were gravity fed thermoset compounds and process. These solutions are not cosmetically pleasing, nor do our end customers favors this method due to high cost of materials and labor. Developing an injection molded solution which will meet and exceed IP68 is not a simple task, but it is the path we are headed down.
This new series not only eliminates the high cost of mechanical strain reliefs, and heat shrink boots. It’s also a value-added solution which allows customers to add logos, thumb pads and features for connecting protective dust caps by way of a threaded nut embedded into the overmold.
ISC also has the capability of embedding the latest Printed Circuit Board assemblies into overmolded connectors which allows for greater functionality in a broader range of applications. Partnered with our wide variety of solutions for military standard connectors, our modular tooling library includes molds for most connector shell sizes and strain relief configurations.
