New 44 GHz Millimeterwave Amplifier from API Technologies Debuts at European Microwave Week

ORLANDO, Fla. and NUREMBERG, Germany - EuMW 2013, Booth #219 - API Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY) ("API" or the "Company"), a trusted provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, announced today at European Microwave Week (Booth #219) the addition of a new standard 44 GHz millimeterwave (MMW) amplifier to its family of products. It features an ultra-high frequency, two-stage design for high gain and medium power, and is enclosed in a rugged laser welded SMA-connectorized housing. The EuMW Exhibition runs through October 10, 2013 at the Nuremberg Convention Center.

The new amplifier (model BXHF1075) offers both high efficiency, and extreme stability with 13 dB of return loss, all while generating 30 dB of gain and +17 dBm of output power off a +15 volt supply. It also incorporates an internal voltage regulator to accommodate either +12 volts or +15 volts.  With solid performance from -40°C to +85°C temperature range, the amplifier is ideally suited for demanding military requirements and high-end commercial applications such as microwave synthesizers, receivers, millimeter-wave telemetry systems, uplink communication platforms, instrumentation, and military communication systems.

"Our new millimeterwave amplifier fulfills an industry need for a high performance amplifier designed specifically for high frequency applications," said Walter Witt, Product Line Manager, RF/Microwave & Microelectronics (RF2M US), API Technologies.

Using a hermetic seal laser welded package, the new 44 GHz MMW amplifier is able to withstand even the most extreme environmental conditions, and is configurable for most military airborne and ground based applications. With field replaceable 2.4mm connectors, the amplifier is well suited as either a modular or customer specific solutions or with a standard connector interface.
