Microcontroller Stabilizes Temperature of Flowing Hot Water

FALL RIVER, MA - HBControls introduces a line of microcontrollers designed for use in instant hot water heaters for home, hotel, or industrial use. Whether for multiple "endless" hot showers, Jacuzzis, or manufacturing processes, a microcontroller can be wired to a circuit "card" in a space-saving, wall-mounted heating unit programmed to maintain a constant temperature (in this case ±0.5°F). The desired temperature is maintained only for as long as the water flows, saving energy because water is heated on demand.

Maintaining water temperature is just one use of a microcontroller. HBControls engineers can work with you to simplify the building and/or upgrading of any microcontroller-based system. Specializing in custom concept-to-product engineering at reasonable rates, HBControls can produce a variety of assemblies tailored to virtually any process. Interfacing with the sensors, keypads, software, and other elements of a particular system, these assemblies serve a multitude of monitoring and control functions for applications such as plastic molding, food processing, semiconductor manufacturing, HVAC/energy-management systems, and motor/machine/lighting control.

The engineers at HBControls are experts at matching solid state relays and semiconductors with appropriate heat sinks. Microcontrollers can include 8-bit converters (digital-to-analog or analog-to-digital) and use Harvard architecture to speed data throughput. Features can include sleep mode, high-output drive, and multiple I/O ports, depending on the customer's needs. Assemblies can be built for encapsulation, panel mounting, or DIN-rail mounting.

HBControls, based in Fall River, Massachusetts, is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of DIN Rail Mounted Solid State Relays, Microprocessor-based Systems, Semiconductor Assemblies, and Custom Assemblies. Additional products include Transducers, Relay Monitors, and Fault-Sensing Devices.
