Product News: Welding Equipment & Supplies
Metal-Cored Wire offers high-quality welds, reduced cleanup.
Press Release Summary:
April 27, 2012 - Offered in .045, .052, and 1/16 in. dia, Hobart® FabCOR® Edge MC wire features silicon control technology that helps minimize silicon island deposits and reduces need for post-weld cleaning. Deposition rates can increase productivity up to 30% in constant voltage (CV) applications, and higher rates can be achieved when used with power source offering pulsing capabilities. Wetting characteristics help create smooth, flat weld beads with uniform fusion and smooth, stable arc.

New Metal-Cored Wire Improves Quality and Productivity, Reduces Clean Up
Press release date: April 17, 2012
The FabCOR Edge MC wire features excellent wetting characteristics that help welding operators create smooth, flat weld beads with uniform fusion, along with a smooth, stable arc that makes it easy to control. To help mitigate the risk of cracking and associated rework, the wire produces low hydrogen weld deposits - between 2.84 and 2.91 ml per 100 g of weldment, depending on the shielding gas mixture. Hobart Brothers recommends a shielding gas mixture of 75 - 95 percent argon with a balance of CO2. With this range of shielding gas mixture, the wire also provides a tensile strength between 85,000 and 90,000 psi.
Hobart Brothers offers the FabCOR Edge MC wire in .045-, .052- and 1/16-inch diameters on 33 pound spools and in the company's exclusive 750 pound X-Pak.
