L-com's Metal Armored USB Cables Resist up to 1500 PSI Crushes and Impacts
NORTH ANDOVER, MA - L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, has released two new USB 2.0 cable assembly lines with metal armor around the cables. The new Type A male to Type A male and Type A male to Type B male cables boast a crush resistance of 1500 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch).
L-com's extensive USB cabling offering has long included many unique products such as latching USB cables, high flex USB cables, right angle USB cables, and waterproof USB cables. These new armored USB cables are needed for many applications including military/aerospace, security, medical facility, and industrial environment applications. Last week, L-com announced that they now carry armored HDMI cables for similar applications.
"We've dedicated a lot of our resources to finding niche solutions to common problems with USB cabling," said Steve Smith, Product Manager. "Providing a crush-resistant option is one of our many USB products we stock or custom manufacture."
The new armored USB cables are expected to be stocked in seven different length options in L-com's Massachusetts, USA distribution center for same-day shipment. Engineering drawings are available for free download on L-com's website.
