Original Press Release:

Rugged MEMS Amplified Accelerometer

August 11, 2008, Aliso Viejo, CA - Measurement Specialties has introduced the new Model 4801A accelerometer. This is a true hermetically sealed accelerometer in a rugged stainless steel package designed for stud mounting.

The accelerometer offers an amplified signal conditioned output in ranges from ±2 to ±500g and incorporates a proprietary ASIC that provides exceptional temperature compensation from -55°C to +125°C. The MEMS sensing element is gas dampened for optimum frequency response and includes mechanical over-range stop that offer shock protection up to 10,000g. Ideal for harsh measurement applications, the model 4801A accelerometer is designed to be used by the test engineer that prefers a detachable cable assembly.
