Fluke Introduces 707 Loop Calibrator with an Innovative, Easy-to-use Interface

Portable instrument's unique, one-handed operation gives technicians a free hand

Fluke Corporation, the world leader in compact, professional electronic test tools, has introduced the Fluke 707 Loop Calibrator, the newest member of its family of portable process calibration tools.

The Fluke 707 features a new ergonomic design that combines the best of knob-based and button-based loop calibrators in one device. Compact and easy to hold, technicians can easily operate the tool with just one hand. At just six inches (152 mm) in length and weighing a mere 12 ounces (340 grams), the Fluke 707 is a rugged reliable calibration tool that can source, measure, and simulate loop current.

The Fluke 707 is two and a half times more accurate than any other loop calibrator in its class.

With a 0.015 percent accuracy and 1 µA resolution in any current mode, a 24 V internal loop supply enables the user to power and read a transmitter at the same time using a single instrument.

The 707 provides simultaneous milliampere and percentage of span readouts making it ideal for process instrument technicians in the primary metals, refining, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and power generation industries. Selectable slow ramp, fast ramp, and step functions provide the user with test signals needed for valve slewing and loop functional tests, allowing a single technician to troubleshoot the entire loop. The Span Check function instantly selects zero and 100 percent of span outputs. A 25 percent button conducts quick linearity checks at 25 percent steps and the innovative new knob style allows fine and coarse adjust vernier with 1 µA and 100 µA resolution. The calibrator can measure loop power supply voltages up to 28 V dc. "Technicians are always under pressure to do more in less time." said Rick Pirret. product marketing manager of Fluke's Process Tools Group. "Now, the rugged. easy-to-use Fluke 707 loop calibrator offers fast, accurate calibrations at an affordable price. The Fluke 707 sets a new standard for loop calibration." The instrument uses a single nine-volt battery that is easy to replace through the quick-change door without compromising the calibration of the instrument. The Fluke 707 is backed by a three-year warranty. It comes complete with test leads, test clips, instruction sheets in 14 languages, and a protective C-10 holster that allows hanging from pipes, rails and joists. Now available from Fluke distributors and representatives worldwide, the Fluke 707 Loop Calibrator has a U.S. list price of $595.
