The new high-performance SIMATIC RF290R RFID Long Range Reader from Siemens Industry Sector reliably captures multiple transponder tags in production control and internal logistics applications requiring high operating ranges.
The compact, 13.56MHz reader complies with ISO 15693 air interface protocol and easily Integrates into the automation or IT levels, including connections to Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet or directly with the RS232 interface.
Trigger and indication signals are enabled with onboard digital I/O. Status is indicated by four LEDs on the reader housing -- operation, data transmission, transponder available and error signal. Up to six antennas can be connected to reader delivering a large coverage range up to 60 cm with one antenna and up to 1 m in gate design with antenna duplexer or multiplexer.
Easy to use parameterization and diagnostics features via the function block FB45/55 or SIMATIC RF290 parameterization software simplifies commissioning.
