Liquid Antimicrobial Agents Provide Enhanced Product Protection at Lower Dosages than Pellet Masterbatches
+Clean™ Antimicrobials from Riverdale Global Are Available in Individual Containers, in Custom Blends with Liquid Colors, or as Part of the GlobalPlus™ Range of Sealed Liquid Additives
ASTON, PA, U.S.A. – A new series of antimicrobial agents for use with polyolefins and engineering thermoplastics provides more effective product protection at lower letdowns than masterbatches, it was announced today by Riverdale Global.
+Clean™ additives can be used at letdown ratios of only 0.2 to 0.5% and disperse more readily in polymer than pellet concentrates. As a result, they yield greater antimicrobial protection while saving on additive costs.
+Clean antimicrobials are inorganic silver-based formulations that prevent discoloration, odors, and product degradation caused by the growth of bacteria, mold, and yeast. They have been optimized for color retention in both indoor and outdoor environments. +Clean AM-139 liquid additive is for use with polyethylene or polypropylene at 0.2 to 0.4% letdowns; and +Clean AM-150 liquid additive is for use with engineering resins at letdowns of 0.3 to 0.5%.

+Clean antimicrobials are for use in housewares, consumer electronics, healthcare devices, and other products in applications susceptible to microbial attack.
The new additives are available in pails or drums, in custom blends with liquid colors, or as one of the GlobalPlus™ range of liquid additives. In the GlobalPlus system, each additive is supplied in a drum with a built-in pump that stay sealed throughout shipping, handling, and processing.
