New Linear Torque Arm for High Capacity Applications Announced

Provides Ultra Smooth Positioning Motion For High Weight/High Torque Assembly Tools

CLEVELAND, OH-September 21, 2007- A new torque arm has been introduced by ASG, a division of Jergens, Inc. The new ASG Linear Torque Arm is designed to provide precise positioning of assembly tools by limiting operator control. Its high quality linear slide provides ultra smooth motion for higher torque/heavier weight electric and pneumatic inline tools. Additionally, operator fatigue is reduced and productivity is increased by the arm's ergonomic design.

The new torque arm is for vertical screw applications. Its machined stainless steel and multiple ball bearing construction with side-by-side slides provide stability for tools up to five pounds in weight and up to 100 lbfoin torque. Arm movement is up/down and 360º side-to-side unless limited by tool configuration. End of arm tooling allows the operator the full grip of the tool with no pinch points. Each arm is provided with two ASG 1-3 lbs. spring balancers.

ASG provides a full line of equipment and systems for precision assembly work, including electric torque-controlled drivers, torque testing equipment and assembly production aides.
