New NSK Linear Guides Achieve World's Highest Load Rating
Global motion & control leader delivers market-driven innovation with NH/NS Series
ANN ARBOR, MI. — NSK Americas (NSK) announced the U.S. launch of its new NH and NS Series Linear Guides, which not only offer longer operating life than conventional linear guides, but the world’s highest load rating*.
NSK linear guides are widely used for medical technology, semiconductor, measuring machine and machine/plant construction applications. The new NH and NS Series was designed by NSK engineering using a unique shape for the ball groove. This new shape helps optimize the contact surface pressure distribution which results in significant increases in load rating and operating life.
"The new NH and NS Series achieves more than twice the life expectancy of conventional linear guides, and 1.3 times the dynamic load rating,” said Scott Havener, Segment Manager - Linear Motion Products, at NSK. “For our customers, this means that the life of their devices can be extended. In addition, the innovative, compact design allows them to downsize devices without compromising load or operating life.”
The NH and NS Series has interchangeable sliders and rails and can be combined with conventional linear products. The installation dimensions are the same as NSK’s LH and LS Series, so the new NH and NS Series can be incorporated without changing the device design. A self-aligning feature accommodates misalignment and minimizes internal loads.
The NH and NS Series features popular options such the NSK K1™ lubrication unit, which provides maintenance-free operation over long periods of time, and special materials and coatings for specialty applications.
NH and NS Series Linear Guides can be used in all varieties of production equipment including material handling robots, machining tools, production equipment used for semiconductors, LCDs, automobiles, etc. and all varieties of devices such as train platform doors, CT scanners, etc.
* Dynamic load rating is a metric measurement used for indicating the load capacity of linear guides. The greater the rating, the longer the life.
