SKF 'Modular Range' Linear Actuators Tailor-Made For Cost-Effectiveness And Performance

BETHLEHEM, PA, February 5, 2002 -- SKF(R) CATR Modular Range electromechanical linear actuators from SKF Motion Technologies are designed to be custom-built utilizing standard internal and external components (such as motors, gears, screws, controls, and attachments). Their modular capability enables users to satisfy application-specific requirements without the costs typically associated with specially engineered parts or assemblies.

Three basic actuator types are available in the SKF Modular Range series, including CATR 33 with ACME sliding screw for standard operation; CATR 33H with ACME screw for high-speeds; and CATR 32B with SKF Ball screw for higher load or duty factors.

Each of these modular actuator types can accommodate a variety of different options (and each option presents more choices) to tailor actuator to application. Users have the opportunity to specify standard or special stroke lengths, AC or DC motors, friction clutch gears, cables, and front and rear attachments, among many other selections. Available accessories range from limit switches to encoders.

SKF CATR Modular Range linear actuators can be designed to perform a variety of functions, such as opening/closing, clamping/gripping, raising/lowering, or pushing/pulling.

Their flexibility promotes use in virtually unlimited applications, including foodservice equipment and other repetitive-motion devices in countless industries.
