L-com Manufactures New ELP Series Economy Lightning and Surge Protectors
NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that it has launched two new models of ELP Series Cat5 lightning and surge protectors. Meant for use with 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks, this series protects valuable equipment from lightning, static discharge, and faulty wiring. These Cat5 protectors easily connect in-line with existing data connections and feature rugged aluminum housings for maximum durability.
"When considering the high cost of replacing damaged equipment and the resulting lost productivity, the cost of an in-line suppressor is really quite small," said Ken Burgner, Product Manager.
The ELP-CAT5 model is designed to easily connect almost anywhere. A small Cat5 jumper cable is included so no additional cables are needed when used with existing data lines. The ELPD-CAT5 model is specifically designed for DIN applications, with a mounting clip located on the rear of the unit that allows it to be mounted to standard DIN 3 rails. A Cat5 jumper cable is also included with this model. For multiple DIN protector installations, 3, 5 and 10 position busbars are available to combine all the protector grounds together.
