Universal Lighting Technolgies Triad(R) T5 and T5/HO Ballast Family Offers a Smaller and Lighter Design

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2002) - Universal Lighting Technologies, a leading manufacturer of electronic and magnetic ballasts, line of high-efficiency electronic ballasts for use with T5 lamps are designed for one and two lamp operation with models available for T5 and T5/HO lamps ranging from 14 to 54 watts. Triad® T5 and T5/HO applications include indirect, pendant mount, wall and surface mount, cove, undercabinet, and task lighting.

Some of the features and benefits for Universal Lighting Technologies' new Triad® T5 and T5/HO ballasts include:

- Small cross sectional area and low profile height of 1.0" for flexible fixture design;
- Installer-friendly universal input voltage (108-305 volts) to reduce inventory requirements;
- End-of-lamp-life shutdown circuit with auto reset when replacing lamps;
- Less than 10 percent THD;
- Programmed rapid start technology for maximum lamp life; and,
- Plug-in lead connectors for easy installation.

"Taking advantage of the ballasts' extremely compact size allows flexibility for lighting designers and fixture manufacturers to produce smaller, more optically efficient luminaries in a variety of applications," said Chris Dimino, director of electronic products. "With its low profile height and small cross section, the Triad(R) T5 and T5/HO ballast and lamp combinations are useful in specialty architectural situations."

Universal Lighting Technologies also announced the introduction of a 347-volt ballast to the Triad® T5/HO family - the B254P347-D.
