Imtra Introduces The Portland Bi-Color POWERled Spot Light

Marine LED Leader's Innovative New Spot Well Suited for the Helm & Nighttime Navigation

New Bedford, Mass. - Imtra, a leading importer and manufacturer of quality marine products and advanced LED solutions, announced today the Portland Bi-Color PowerLED spot. Offering a full brightness white LED light in warm or cool white tones, and a low-power red or blue secondary color, the Portland PowerLED is ideally suited for use in locations such as helm and navigation stations, salons, and exterior overhangs or hardtops where a combination of light colors are desired. Fully dimmable in the primary lighting mode, the Portland is designed to allow boaters to choose the optimal lighting color and brightness for any situation including nighttime navigation.

The Portland PowerLED bi-color spotlight is available with a red or blue LED combined with a full brightness warm or cool white LED. When installed with an Imtra PWM dimmer and momentary switch, the white LED is dimmable from 0-100%. The Portland provides a 60-degree illumination angle and is constructed for long-life, maintenance-free operation. All Portland PowerLED models provide substantial power savings, are cool to the touch and emit no radiated heat, eliminating potential fire or burning hazards associated with halogen lights. The Portland has a 70% BTU decrease versus halogens keeping cabin temperatures comfortable and providing a needed break to otherwise over-burdened air conditioning systems. The Portland Bi-Color offers the same consistent white-light color as the original Portland PowerLED, so when any number of Portland lights are connected in a circuit with a dimming switch, all of the lights will provide the same level of light output, regardless of level of dimming.

"By combining high-brightness dimmable white LED light with low output color LEDs, Imtra has created a truly flexible light fixture that is ideally suited for many boating applications", said Kinder Woodcock, lighting product manager, Imtra. "With its white/red and white/blue color combinations, the Portland PowerLED is ideally suited for helms and navigation stations. But unlike many of the multi-color LED 'entertainment' lights on the market, the Portland's full-brightness primary light provides the boat owner with abundant room illumination without having to rely on secondary light sources."

The Imtra Portland PowerLED stainless steel and white finish models are waterproof and rated at IP65 (withstands exposure to heavy seas or jets of water from all directions). The satin nickel and gold models are rated IP40 and designed for use in salons and other indoor areas. The Portland features a shallow recess depth of only 0.98-inches (23mm), an overall diameter of 3.44-inches (87mm) and a trim ring height of 0.3-inches (8mm) deep. The Portland is housed in anodized aluminum and is screw mounted. Portland's housing is custom-designed to optimize thermal management, a critical element in ensuring LED performance and long life. It screw-mounts for a positive, watertight installation in wet-weather locations. Portland PowerLEDs operate within a 10-30 VDC voltage range and consume a scant 3.2W of power. The spot is protected against reverse polarity, features transient power protection and is built to withstand voltage spikes up to 200 volts. All Imtra PowerLED products combine proprietary drive electronics, advanced optics and efficient thermal management design. The Portland PowerLED is protected by a 3-year limited parts and labor warranty on the fixture, and a 1-year warranty on the finish.

Pricing and Availability:

The Imtra Portland PowerLED spot light has $159.00 suggested retail price for the gold finish model and $149.00 for models with stainless steel, white or satin nickel finishes. The Portland is currently available at marine retailers, boat yards and marine retrofitters throughout the United States and Canada, as well as from the company's website.
