LED Luminaire achieves greater than 50 L/W.

Press Release Summary:

Employing MicroEmitter(TM) optics, PGL7 LED Luminaire offers wide and narrow distribution patterns for covered canopies and walkways, loading docks, and public transportation platforms. Dual Thermal Management System uses conduction and convection to absorb and dissipate heat, while LifeShield Protection System maintains lumen loss depreciation to less than 15% at 100,000 hr of operation. Available in 3,500, 5,100, and 1,700 K color temperatures, PGL7 is IP66-rated for wet locations.

Kim Lighting's PGL7 LED Improves Its Performance Package, Design Attributes, and Controls Lumen Depreciation to a Minimum

New line capitalizes on advanced LED technologies to parking structure and low mounting height applications

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. - Kim Lighting, the premiere manufacturer of architectural outdoor lighting and the company that invented the parking structure luminaire category, is once again revolutionizing the industry with its fifth generation, the PGL7 LED. PGL7 LED is a sleek, low profile luminaire designed to employ Kim Lighting's patent pending MicroEmitter(TM) optical system and the latest solid state lighting performance package. The flexibility of Kim Lighting's MicroEmitter optics provides designers with a full palette of wide and narrow distribution patterns, expanding application possibilities to include covered canopies and walkways, loading
docks and public transportation platforms.

Kim Lighting's PGL7 LED second generation of luminaires offer improvements in lumens,
lumens per watts and main beam candela. PGL7 LED now achieves >50 LPW, required by
most Utility rebate incentive programs. Design enhancements include the employment of eight tool-less thumb screws to remove the EmitterDeck, and replacing individual MicroEmitter modules is now simplified to one single removable mounting screw on the front side of the EmitterDeck, eliminating the need to remove the entire EmitterDeck from the housing.

With it's enhanced performance and energy saving options, the PGL7 LED is a perfect fit for new and facility upgrade projects.

Key product attributes and benefits include:

o Designed to employ Kim Lighting's patent pending MicroEmitter(TM) Technology.

- Optimal glare control for safety and visual comfort.

- MicroEmitter modules are precisely aimed to hit the lighting task, reducing spill
light and energy waste.

- LED modules are easily upgradeable as LED technology advances.

o NEW! Designed with a Dual Thermal Management System, conduction and convection,
to absorb and dissipate heat, and introduces an exclusive LifeShield Protection System
monitor to maintain lumen loss depreciation to less than 15% at 100,000 hours of
operation (based on IESNA LM-79 and LM-80) in extreme and fluctuating environmental
conditions without overheating or failing.

o Wide and narrow optical distributions available in IES Type I, III, V as well as exclusive one-way left and one-way right. Optical variety and flexibility expands application usage.

o Achieves footcandle levels above IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North
America) recommendations.

o Progressive occupancy sensor and illumination control options (wired and wireless
systems) for additional energy savings.

o Available in three standard color temperatures, 3500K, 5100K and 1700K (Amber -
580nm). Other color temperatures are available special order.

o Standard vandal-resistant acrylic lens; lexan lens optional.

o IP-66 rated for wet location and hose-down applications.

o Meets ARRA and NAFTA criteria.

Key LED Energy Savings and Performance Facts:

o Over 40% energy savings compared to HID sources. Bi-level illumination can add
additional savings.

o 40,000 hour longer lamp life over HID sources.

o Slower performance depreciation at high operating cycles.

o Uniform illumination for security camera installs; no dark shadows between vehicles or other freestanding objects within a structure.

o LEDs are instant on/off strike light sources; increases safety and security during
momentarily power failures.

o LEDs reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

o Higher performance levels in all weather climates.

o Payback varies between 2 - 4 years depending on application and installation
environment.

Awards and Recognitions: 2010 IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America) Progress Report Recipient.
